The Sonora Wildcats (Sonora, CA) basketball nipped the visiting El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA), 56-50 in Friday's non-league test.

The Wildcats (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Ripon Christian (Ripon, CA). The Knights go into the non-league test with a 5-4 record. In their last test, Ripon Christian got by Sierra (Tollhouse, CA), 47-43, in a non-league test.

The Gauchos now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they host Turlock for a non-league test on Saturday, December 16. El Capitan will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 66-55 non-league loss to Riverbank (Riverbank, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-3.
