The Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA) basketball felled the host Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), 60-50 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Green Waves (7-3) will now prepare for their test against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA). The Mustangs go into the Pioneer test with a 0-13 record.

The Spartans now own a 6-7 record. They play next when they travel to Bland County for a Mountain Empire test on Friday, January 14. Giles will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 57-50 non-league loss to Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA). The Bears record now stands at 7-6.
