West Virginia High School Basketball - Valley winner over Midland Trail

The Valley Greyhounds (Smithers, WV) basketball felled the host Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV), 54-44 in Thursday's league test.

The Greyhounds (9-0) will now prepare for their test against Van (Van, WV). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 6-2 record. In their last test, Van thwarted PikeView (Princeton, WV), 82-55, in a non-league test.

The Patriots now own a 3-9 record. They play next when they host Fayetteville for a Coalfield A test on Friday, January 26. Midland Trail will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 83-51 non-league loss to Greater Beckley Christian (Prosperity, WV). The Pirates record now stands at 3-7.
