Washington, DC High School Football - St. John's thwarts Bishop McNamara
September 24, 2011: Washington, DC 20015 The Bishop McNamara Mustangs football team (Forestville, MD), was knocked off 47-16 in Saturday's league challenge with the host St. John's Cadets (Washington, DC)
The Cadets (2-2) will now prepare for their outing against Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC). The Lions go into the Washington Catholic outing with a 2-1 record. In their last outing, Archbishop Carroll overcame Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, VA), 34-13, in a league test.
With the loss, Bishop McNamara falls to 1-2 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Gonzaga (Washington, DC) to play the Eagles in a Washington Catholic battle on Saturday, October 1. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 2-3. Gonzaga lost 49-7 in their recent league challenge against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD)
