The East Marion Eagles football team (Columbia, MS), was tipped 35-32 in Friday's league challenge with the host Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS)

The Hornets (7-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS). The Bobcats come into the 2A Region 7 challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Bogue Chitto edged West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS), 17-6, in a league test.

With the loss, East Marion moves to 1-5 on the season. The Eagles travel to Amite County (Liberty, MS) to confront the Trojans in a 2A Region 7 test on Friday, October 8. The Trojans go into the test with a record of 2-2. Amite County won 34-28 in their recent non-league test against Franklin County (Meadville, MS)
