The Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC), 57-45 in Friday's league test.

The Cougars (16-5) will now prepare for their test against A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Rockets go into the Western Mountain 3A test with a 6-13 record. In their last test, A.C. Reynolds went down by Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC), 68-35, in a non-league test.
