New Jersey High School Basketball - Atlantic City edges Middle Township
January 3, 2013: Atlantic City, NJ 08401 The Atlantic City Vikings (Atlantic City, NJ) basketball nipped the visiting Middle Township Panthers (Cape May Court House, NJ), 58-52 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Vikings (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Vineland (Vineland, NJ). The Fighting Clan go into the non-league test with a 0-0 record.
The Panthers now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Ocean City for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 8.
First Quarter
Great 1st qtr., AC is up 17-16! AC got easy baskets and Middle worked hard for theirs. Middle turned the ball over & missed easy shots!
Second Quarter
The decisive 2nd qtr. goes to the Vikings 17-4 and lead 34-20 at the half. Middle is struggling executing the game plan. Way too many TO's, put-backs & dribble drives allowed to the basket!
Third Quarter
Middle continues to turned the ballover as AC increases their lead to 49-28!
Late put-back allowed to stand, even though it was clearly after the horn.....
that and a few other calls would come back to haunt the Panthers in the 4th!
Fourth Quarter
Middle wins their only qtr.{25-9} with a frantic comeback attempt, only to fall short! AC made a few plays late and Middle didn't. A few questionable calls late, all went against the Panthers, which really hurt! AC wins 58-53
