The Downey Vikings basketball team (Downey, CA), was overwhelmed 56-34 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Ventura Cougars (Ventura, CA)

The Cougars now possess a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Buena for a Channel battle on Tuesday, January 10. Ventura will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 61-44 league loss to San Marcos (Santa Barbara, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-7.

The Vikings (14-5) will now prepare for their battle against Warren (Downey, CA). The Bears come into the San Gabriel Valley battle with a 7-9 record.
