The Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Father McGivney Catholic Griffins (Glen Carbon, IL), 50-43 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Midgets (18-7) will now prepare for their test against Okawville (Okawville, IL). The Rockets go into the non-league test with a 4-15 record. In their last test, Okawville got by Lebanon (Lebanon, IL), 62-21, in a non-league test.

The Griffins now own a 11-11 record. They play next when they host Christ Our Rock Lutheran for a Midland Trail test on Tuesday, January 31. Father McGivney Catholic will encounter a Silver Stallions squad coming off a 84-36 league win over Woodlawn (Woodlawn, IL). The Silver Stallions record now stands at 22-0.
