Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Potter's House Christian routs Neighborhood Academy
March 10, 2011: Pittsburgh, PA 15224 In Thursday's non-league outing, the Potter's House Christian Lions (Jacksonville, FL) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Neighborhood Academy (Pittsburgh, PA), by a margin of 101-5.
The Lions (35-1) will now prepare for their outing against Upper Room Christian Academy (Raleigh, NC). The go into the non-league outing with a 5-6 record. In their last outing, Upper Room Christian Academy was trounced by Miller (Charlottesville, VA), 61-38, in a non-league outing.
The now own a 4-9 record.
First Quarter
The first round game for The NCSAA National Tournament Championship didn't present a problem for The Lady Lions as they scored basket after basket against a young Neighborhood Academy team from Eerie Pa. The Lady Lions went on a 40 -0 tear in the first quarter and nevr looked back. Antoinette Bannister led the way scoring 11 points while Shalethia Stringfield poured in another 10.
Second Quarter
The second quarter was much like the first as the pressure defense of The Lady Lions proved to be too much for Neighborhood Academy and The Potter's House went into the half with a commanding 71-3 lead.
Third Quarter
In the second half the LADY lIONS sat out their starters yet still managed to pour in ano0ther 20 points in the third period.
Fourth Quarter
In the Fourth quarter The Lady Lions continued to sit their starters however they still managed to put up another 10 points in the period to close out the game with a victory and inch closer to a much anticipated matchup with #7th ranked Riverdale Baptist(Upper Marlboro Maryland). First they must prepare for and not take lightly Upper Room Christian on Friday in the Semi- Finals. To God Be The Glory
