Sinagua Mustangs (Flagstaff, AZ) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Round Valley Elks (Eagar, AZ), 71-63 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sinagua upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Mustangs host Flagstaff (Flagstaff, AZ) to encounter the Eagles in a 4A Grand Canyon bout on Tuesday, January 6. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-9. Flagstaff lost 66-56 in their recent non-league bout against Sunnyslope (Phoenix, AZ)

Next up, the Elks encounter the Joseph City Wildcats (Joseph City, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 6. Round Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 44-43 non-league win over Camp Verde (Camp Verde, AZ).
