Texas High School Basketball - Wakeland prevails Fossil Ridge

Wakeland Wolverines (Frisco, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Fossil Ridge Panthers (Keller, TX), 72-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wakeland upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Wolverines travel to Denison (Denison, TX) to play the Yellowjackets in a 4A Region II District 9 bout on Friday, January 2. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 10-3.

Next up, the Panthers play the Heritage Panthers (Colleyville, TX) in a 5A Region I District 5 challenge, on Saturday, January 3. Fossil Ridge will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 69-55 non-league win over Nimitz (Irving, TX).
