Texas High School Basketball - Brownfield prevails Cooper
January 6, 2009: Abilene, TX 79605 Brownfield Cubs (Brownfield, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX), 59-45 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Brownfield upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Cubs travel to Big Spring (Big Spring, TX) to play the Steers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 9. The Steers go into the bout with a record of 0-5. Big Spring lost 71-54 in their recent non-league bout against Estacado (Lubbock, TX)
Next up, the Cougars play the Seminole Indians (Seminole, TX) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 10. Cooper will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 63-51 non-league win over Snyder (Snyder, TX).
