Stanton Mustangs (Stanton, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Tekamah-Herman Tigers (Tekamah, NE), 46-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Stanton upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Mustangs host Elkhorn Valley (Tilden, NE) to encounter the Falcons in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 17. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 1-7. Elkhorn Valley lost 70-47 in their recent non-league bout against Plainview (Plainview, NE)

Next up, the Tigers play the West Point-Beemer Cadets (West Point, NE) in a C1 District 4 challenge, on Saturday, January 17. Tekamah-Herman will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Cadets come into the challenge with a 3-7 record after their 55-34 non-league loss to Mount Michael Benedictine (Elkhorn, NE).
