Texas High School Basketball - Red Oak holds off Lancaster
February 10, 2011: Red Oak, TX 75154 Red Oak Hawks (Red Oak, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Lancaster Tigers (Lancaster, TX), 51-49 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Red Oak improves its record to 18-9 on the campaign. The Hawks host Ennis (Ennis, TX) to battle the Lions in a 4A Region II District 15 challenge on Saturday, February 12. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 24-5. Ennis won 49-44 in their recent league challenge against Terrell (Terrell, TX)
Next up, the Tigers battle the Forney Jackrabbits (Forney, TX) in a 4A Region II District 15 challenge, on Saturday, February 12. Lancaster will attempt to improve on its 18-9 season record. The Jackrabbits come into the challenge with a 12-17 record after their 59-57 league loss to West Mesquite (Mesquite, TX).
