Illinois High School Basketball - Oakland/Kansas holds off Villa Grove
February 12, 2011: Oakland, IL 61943 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Oakland/Kansas Oaks (Oakland, IL) and the visiting Villa Grove Blue Devils (Villa Grove, IL), saw Oakland/Kansas's basketball squad hold off Villa Grove by a count of 56-53.
With the victory, Oakland/Kansas upgrades its record to 5-11 on the campaign. The Oaks travel to Heritage (Broadlands, IL) to play the Hawks in a Little Okaw Valley challenge on Tuesday, February 15. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 11-15. Heritage won 55-49 in their recent league challenge against Bement (Bement, IL)
Next up, the Blue Devils play the Arthur Knights (Arthur, IL) in a Little Okaw Valley challenge, on Tuesday, February 15. Villa Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 11-10 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 13-11 record after their 55-20 league win over Lovington (Lovington, IL).
