Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Liberty Eagles (Liberty, IL), 63-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Brown County upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Virginia/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Virginia, IL) to play the Redbirds in a Western Illinois Valley bout on Friday, February 4. The Redbirds come into the bout with a record of 5-15.

Next up, the Eagles play the Western Wildcats (Barry, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 1. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 1-16 record after their 61-55 non-league loss to Pleasant Hill (Pleasant Hill, IL).
