California High School Softball - West Valley holds off Corning
April 28, 2016: Cottonwood, CA 96022 Spectators at Thursday's league match between the West Valley Eagles (Cottonwood, CA) and the visiting Corning Cardinals (Corning, CA), witnessed West Valley's softball squad tip Corning by a count of 5-3.
The Eagles now sport a 12-7 record. They play next when they travel to Wheatland for a non-league match on Friday, April 29. West Valley will face a Pirates squad coming off a 11-1 league win over Gridley (Gridley, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 11-8.
With the loss, Corning moves to 5-12 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Colusa (Colusa, CA) to face the RedHawks in a non-league match on Friday, April 29. The RedHawks go into the match with a record of 12-6. Colusa won 19-1 in their recent non-league match against University Prep (Redding, CA)
