Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), 44-30 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ashe County upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Huskies host Watauga (Boone, NC) to clash with the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Friday, February 16. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 16-1. Watauga won 43-29 in their recent non-league bout against Freedom (Morganton, NC)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 16. South Caldwell will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 45-22 non-league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).
