Arkansas High School Basketball - Heber Springs crushes Newport
January 2, 2018: Newport, AR 72112 Heber Springs Panthers (Heber Springs, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 71-50 in a league bout.
With the victory, Heber Springs upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Panthers host Riverview (Searcy, AR) to play the Raiders in a 4A Region 2 bout on Friday, January 5. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 13-4. Riverview won 54-43 in their recent league bout against Harding Academy (Searcy, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the Bald Knob Bulldogs (Bald Knob, AR) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 60-49 non-league loss to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, AR).
