October 24, 2008: Overton, NV 89040 The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Moapa Valley Pirates (Overton, NV) and the visiting Desert Oasis Diamondbacks (Las Vegas, NV), saw Moapa Valley's volleyball squad beat Desert Oasis by a tally of 3-0.
With the win, Moapa Valley upgrades its record to 18-6 on the year. The Pirates travel to Virgin Valley (Mesquite, NV) to play the Bulldogs in a Southern 3A bout on Tuesday, October 28. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Virgin Valley lost 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Lake Mead Academy (Henderson, NV)
The Diamondbacks now own a 5-21 record. They play next when they travel to Western for a non-league bout on Monday, October 27. Desert Oasis will play a Warriors squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Durango (Las Vegas, NV). The Warriors record now stands at 4-12.
