In Thursday's non-league game, the Elyria Pioneers (Elyria, OH) football team knocked off the host Valley Forge Patriots (Parma Heights, OH), by a final score of 49-20.

The Pioneers (4-2) will now prepare for their game against Cuyahoga Falls (Cuyahoga Falls, OH). The Black Tigers come into the Northeast Ohio - River game with a 3-3 record. In their last game, Cuyahoga Falls was dropped by Shaker Heights (Shaker Heights, OH), 49-9, in a non-league game.

The Patriots now hold a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shaker Heights for a Northeast Ohio - Lake game on Saturday, October 6.
