Kansas High School Soccer - South trounced by Blue Valley Southwest
August 28, 2018: Overland Park, KS 66062 In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves soccer squad scored a close 5-1 win over the South Raiders.
The Timberwolves (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Blue Valley North (Overland Park, KS). The Mustangs go into the Eastern Kansas battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Blue Valley North nipped Gardner-Edgerton (Gardner, KS), 6-3, in a league battle.
The Raiders (0-1) will now prepare for their battle against North (Shawnee Mission, KS). The Indians go into the Sunflower battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, North nipped Piper (Kansas City, KS), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
Game Summary
The Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves opened the 2018 season with a win over Shawnee Mission South (6A) 5-1. The defending 5A Kansas Champion Timberwolves extended their school best unbeaten streak to 22 games. BVSW scored in the first minute of the game and led 2-0 for most of the first half. SMS scored off a free kick late in the first half and also survived several BVSW off both posts to head to halftime down 2-1.
BVSW scored three times in the 2nd half to break the game open.
