Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Crofton (Gambrills, MD), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chopticon for a Southern Maryland challenge on Friday, April 19. Northern will face a Braves squad coming off a 13-0 league win over McDonough (Pomfret, MD). The Braves record now stands at 14-0.

With the loss, Crofton falls to 10-2 on the campaign. The travel to Annapolis (Annapolis, MD) to face the Panthers in a Anne Arundel County challenge on Friday, April 19. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-10. Annapolis lost 25-15 in their recent league challenge against Meade (Fort Meade, MD)
