Beggs Demons (Beggs, OK) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Preston Pirates (Preston, OK), 67-64 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Beggs upgrades its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Demons host Morris (Morris, OK) to play the Eagles in a Big Eight Star bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 2-15.

Next up, the Pirates play the Kiefer Trojans (Kiefer, OK) in a non-league test, on Friday, February 3. Preston will attempt to advance on its 10-8 season record. The Trojans go into the test with a 6-5 record after their 47-40 non-league win over Caney Valley (Ramona, OK).
