Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Glendale Cardinals (Glendale, AZ), 54-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 5-14 on the campaign. The Patriots host South Mountain (Phoenix, AZ) to play the Jaguars in a 5A Union bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 6-11. South Mountain lost 52-40 in their recent league bout against Fairfax (Laveen, AZ)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Camelback Spartans (Phoenix, AZ) in a 5A Union bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Glendale will attempt to upgrade on its 0-13 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 51-46 league loss to Carl Hayden Community (Phoenix, AZ).
