McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Erwin Warriors (Asheville, NC), 68-60 in a league bout.

With the win, McDowell upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Titans host Asheville (Asheville, NC) to clash with the Cougars in a Mountain Athletic 3A/4A bout on Friday, January 6. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 4-8. Asheville won 61-59 in their recent non-league bout against R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC)

Next up, the Warriors clash with the T.C. Roberson Rams (Asheville, NC) in a Mountain Athletic 3A/4A bout, on Friday, January 6. Erwin will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 60-50 league loss to North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC).
