Maryland High School Baseball - Independence holds off DeMatha
April 13, 2022: Hyattsville, MD 20781 Independence (Ashburn, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD), 6-2 in a non-league test.
With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The host Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA) to battle the Bulldogs in a Potomac test on Thursday, April 21. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 5-3.
With the defeat, DeMatha falls to 6-8 on the season. The Stags travel to Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, VA) to battle the Cardinals in a Washington Catholic test on Thursday, April 14. The Cardinals come into the test with a record of 10-4. Bishop Ireton won 3-1 in their recent league test against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD)
