The Wagner Thunderbirds ran past the visiting McKinney Lions basketball team by a final score of 87-70 in Monday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds face the Judson Rockets (Converse, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 27 game, on Tuesday, January 5. Wagner will attempt to advance on its 17-1 season record. The Rockets go into the test with a 18-2 record after their 56-43 non-league loss to Pflugerville (Pflugerville, TX).

The Lions now own a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Amarillo for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 29. McKinney will clash with a Sandies squad coming off a 55-54 non-league loss to Hendrickson (Pflugerville, TX). The Sandies record now stands at 8-7.
