In Friday's league outing, the Shadow Mountain Matadors (Phoenix, AZ) basketball squad beat the visiting Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ), by a margin of 65-51.

The Matadors (15-8) will now prepare for their outing against Moon Valley (Phoenix, AZ). The Rockets go into the 4A Western Sky outing with a 6-12 record.

The Patriots now own a 17-3 record. They take the field next when they host Sunnyslope for a 4A Western Sky outing on Tuesday, February 2. Independence will confront a Vikings team coming off a 79-64 league win over Apollo (Glendale, AZ). The Vikings record now stands at 20-3.
