Giddings Buffaloes (Giddings, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Columbus Cardinals (Columbus, TX), 59-58 in a league bout.

With the win, Giddings upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Buffaloes travel to Sealy (Sealy, TX) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region IV District 25 bout on Tuesday, January 26. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 7-5. Sealy won 83-63 in their recent league bout against La Grange (La Grange, TX)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Smithville Tigers (Smithville, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 25 bout, on Tuesday, January 26. Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 8-13 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 74-62 league loss to Bellville (Bellville, TX).
