December 30, 2009: Murfreesboro, TN 37129 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Siegel Stars (Murfreesboro, TN) and the visiting Palmetto Panthers (Miami, FL), saw Siegel's basketball squad hold off Palmetto by a score of 60-58.
With the victory, Siegel improves its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Stars host Shelbyville Central (Shelbyville, TN) to battle the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 5. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Shelbyville Central lost 61-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Mount Juliet (Mt. Juliet, TN)
Next up, the Panthers battle the Varela Vipers (Miami, FL) in a 6A District 16 test, on Wednesday, January 6. Palmetto will attempt to advance on its 2-6 season record. The Vipers go into the test with a 8-4 record after their 50-47 non-league win over Doctors Charter (Miami, FL).
