Illinois High School Basketball - Catholic Academy prevails Walther Lutheran
December 26, 2009: Joliet, IL 60435 Catholic Academy Angels (Joliet, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Walther Lutheran Broncos (Melrose Park, IL), 57-49 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Catholic Academy upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Angels travel to Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, IL) to play the Spartans in a East Suburban Catholic bout on Friday, January 8. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 5-10. Marian Catholic lost 55-50 in their recent non-league bout against Bolingbrook (Bolingbrook, IL)
Next up, the Broncos play the Immaculate Conception Knights (Elmhurst, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 2. Walther Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 80-78 non-league loss to Elmwood Park (Elmwood Park, IL).
