Illinois High School Basketball - Goreville tops Gallatin County
January 2, 2024: Junction, IL 62954 Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Gallatin County Hawks (Junction, IL), 47-35 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Goreville upgrades its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Blackcats travel to Trico (Campbell Hill, IL) to play the Pioneers in a Black Diamond - West bout on Friday, January 5. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 1-12. Trico lost 61-45 in their recent league bout against Christopher (Christopher, IL)
Next up, the Hawks play the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Wildcats (Carrier Mills, IL) in a Greater Egyptian bout, on Friday, January 5. Gallatin County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 2-11 record after their 57-24 non-league loss to Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL).
