Watseka Warriors (Watseka, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL), 44-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Watseka upgrades its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Herscher (Herscher, IL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 3-15. Herscher lost 55-46 in their recent league bout against Lisle (Lisle, IL)

Next up, the Sabers play the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones (Bloomington, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 20. St. Thomas More will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Cyclones come into the bout with a 3-13 record after their 53-21 league win over Greenview (Greenview, IL).
