In Friday's league outing, the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), by a margin of 51-50.

The Warhorses (4-15) will now prepare for their outing against Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC). The Bearcats go into the 2A/1A Western Highlands outing with a 18-0 record. In their last outing, Hendersonville got by Mitchell (Bakersville, NC), 79-55, in a league outing.

The Patriots now own a 3-17 record. They take the field next when they host Avery County for a 2A/1A Western Highlands outing on Tuesday, January 31. Madison will clash with a Vikings squad coming off a 76-68 league loss to Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 4-15.
