Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Akins Eagles (Austin, TX) and the visiting Copperas Cove Bulldawgs (Copperas Cove, TX), saw Akins's basketball squad hold off Copperas Cove by a count of 66-62.

With the victory, Akins upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Eagles host Georgetown (Georgetown, TX) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, November 18. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Georgetown lost 52-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Austin (Austin, TX)
