Merced Bears (Merced, CA) supporters were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Buhach Colony Thunder (Atwater, CA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Bears confront the Pitman Pride (Turlock, CA) in a Central California Conference challenge, on Wednesday, January 31. Merced will attempt to move on its 6-8 season record. The Pride enter the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 4-1 league win over Golden Valley (Merced, CA).

The Thunder now possess a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they host El Capitan for a Central California Conference challenge on Wednesday, February 7.
