North Carolina High School Basketball - East Surry nudges Bishop McGuinness
January 5, 2016: Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Bishop McGuinness Villains (Kernersville, NC), 48-46 in a league bout.
With the win, East Surry upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to clash with the Granite Bears in a Northwest 1A bout on Friday, January 8. The Granite Bears go into the bout with a record of 13-1. Mount Airy won 65-43 in their recent non-league bout against Surry Central (Dobson, NC)
Next up, the Villains clash with the Walkertown Wolfpack (Walkertown, NC) in a Northwest 1A bout, on Friday, January 15. Bishop McGuinness will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Wolfpack go into the bout with a 1-13 record after their 71-46 league loss to Atkins (Winston-Salem, NC).
