Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) and the visiting Petal Panthers (Petal, MS), saw Meridian's basketball squad wallop Petal by a tally of 65-21.

With the victory, Meridian improves its record to 19-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Brandon (Brandon, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a 6A Region 5 challenge on Friday, January 15. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 12-5.

Next up, the Panthers confront the Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS) in a 6A Region 5 challenge, on Friday, January 15. Petal will attempt to improve on its 11-7 season record.
