Game Summary
The pre-game hype on the matchup between Santa Ynez and the Nipomo Titans did not let anybody down! The game went 10 innings with Santa Ynez getting the win by a score of 8-3. With numerous professional scouts in attendance the starting pitchers for both teams put on quite the show! Nathan Thompson from Santa Ynez and Ryan McNeil from Nipomo. Thompson pitched 7 full innings befor giving the ball over to the Pirate closer, Zach DeMarcus. Nathan left with the score tied 3-3. Thompson gave up only 3 hits and recorded 8 strikeouts. Nipomo pitcher Ryan McNeil went 9 full innings and recorded 9 strikeouts while giving up 6 hits. Four of the 6 hits off of McNeil came off the bat of Zach DeMarcus. Zach was 4-4 with two runs scored and hit a monster game tying home run in the 6th inning. DeMarcus also picked up the win. In the tenth inning the Pirates scored 5 runs off of the Nipomo relief pitcher. Welker, Gonzalez, Rowan and Jake Pritchard all had hits in that inning.
