California High School Baseball - Vasquez loses to Burroughs
March 8, 2012: Acton, CA 93510 The Burroughs Burros crushed the host Vasquez Mustangs baseball team by a count of 15-7 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Burros now possess a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Antelope Valley for a non-league bout on Tuesday, March 13. Burroughs will face a Antelopes team coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to Quartz Hill (Quartz Hill, CA). The Antelopes record now stands at 0-3.
Next, the Mustangs face the Palmdale Falcons (Palmdale, CA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 10. Vasquez will attempt to move on its 1-2 season record. The Falcons enter the bout with a 2-5 record after their 8-6 non-league win over Lancaster (Lancaster, CA).
Game Summary
Vasquez High School hosted Burroughs-Ridgecrest at Sisco Field for our home opener. Freshman Garrett Berry was the starting pitcher and threw 4 innings, giving up only 4 hits and 4 earned runs. He was the victim of our poor defensive play. Josh Gamboa led our offense with 3 hits, Kyle Dettmann, David Dettmann and Jacob Musial each had 2 hits apiece.
