The Lovington Wildcats routed the visiting Valley Vikings softball squad by a final score of 17-2 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Wildcats (22-7) will now prepare for their battle against Gallup (Gallup, NM). The Bengals go into the non-league battle with a 22-7 record. In their last battle, Gallup notched a victory over Silver (Silver City, NM), 10-3, in a non-league battle.

The Vikings now possess a 16-11 record. They play next when they travel to Aztec for a non-league battle on Friday, May 13. Valley will confront a Tigers squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM). The Tigers record now stands at 18-10.
