Southern Tornadoes (Racine, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marietta Tigers (Marietta, OH), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Tornadoes now sport a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they host River Valley for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Southern will face a Raiders squad coming off a 8-4 league loss to Vinton County (McArthur, OH). The Raiders record now stands at 5-8.

With the loss, Marietta falls to 0-19 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Logan (Logan, OH) to face the Chieftains in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Chieftains enter the challenge with a record of 7-6.
