Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), 81-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Starmount upgrades its record to 17-2 on the campaign. The Rams host Forbush (East Bend, NC) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 6-13. Forbush won 77-74 in their recent league bout against Surry Central (Dobson, NC)

Next up, the Blackhawks play the Elkin Elks (Elkin, NC) in a Mountain Valley 1A/2A bout, on Friday, February 2. West Wilkes will attempt to upgrade on its 7-14 season record.
