New York High School Basketball - Falconer nips Gowanda
January 6, 2023: Gowanda, NY 14070 Falconer Golden Falcons (Falconer, NY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Gowanda Panthers (Gowanda, NY), 56-49 in a league bout.
With the victory, Falconer upgrades its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Golden Falcons travel to Portville (Portville, NY) to play the Panthers in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I East bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 1-6. Portville lost 88-23 in their recent league bout against Randolph (Randolph, NY)
Next up, the Panthers play the Frewsburg Bears (Frewsburg, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I East bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Gowanda will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 3-0 record after their 66-38 league win over Cassadaga Valley (Sinclairville, NY).
