Newman Greenies (New Orleans, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Western Warriors (Louisville, KY), 43-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newman upgrades its record to 17-2 on the campaign. The Greenies travel to Bartlett (Bartlett, TN) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 13-4. Bartlett won 43-41 in their recent non-league bout against St. Augustine (New Orleans, LA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Norland Vikings (Miami, FL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Western will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 69-57 non-league win over Tupelo (Tupelo, MS).
