Waelder Wildcats (Waelder, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Yorktown Wildcats (Yorktown, TX), 68-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Waelder upgrades its record to 5-7 on the season. The Wildcats host Pettus (Pettus, TX) to play the War Eagles in a 1A Region IV District 30 bout on Tuesday, December 20. The War Eagles go into the bout with a record of 0-6.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Schulenburg Shorthorns (Schulenburg, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 27. Yorktown will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Shorthorns go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 63-45 league win over Ganado (Ganado, TX).
