Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA), 13-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Laurel upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Spartan host Aliquippa (Aliquippa, PA) to battle the Quips in a WPIAL 2A 2 test on Saturday, April 10. The Quips come into the test with a record of 0-5. Aliquippa lost 7-3 in their recent non-league test against Cornell (Coraopolis, PA)

With the defeat, Union Area falls to 3-3 on the season. The Scotties travel to Rochester (Rochester, PA) to battle the Rams in a WPIAL 1A 1 test on Monday, April 12. The Rams come into the test with a record of 3-0. Rochester won 13-3 in their recent non-league test against Beaver Falls (Beaver Falls, PA)
