Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting New Britain Golden Hurricanes (New Britain, CT), 14-8 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Staples improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Wreckers host Ridgefield (Ridgefield, CT) to battle the Tigers in a Fairfield County II test on Friday, September 27. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 4-0. Ridgefield won 17-14 in their recent league test against New Canaan (New Canaan, CT)

With the loss, New Britain drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Golden hurricanes travel to Manchester (Manchester, CT) to battle the Indians in a non-league test on Friday, September 27. The Indians come into the test with a record of 1-1. Manchester won 51-0 in their recent non-league test against Wilbur Cross (New Haven, CT)
